What makes the Crown head different
A standard MTS cartridge has a flat, straight tip. When you apply ampoule and roll, the liquid slips off the flat surface and some runs back up into the cartridge. The Crown cartridge has a curved, crown-shaped tip with gaps between the points. The ampoule sits in those gaps and is pressed into the skin as the needles work, so almost none is wasted. ByTheQuality's own comparison calls this "zero ampoule loss" versus slippage and backflow on a general MTS.
How to use
- Cleanse thoroughly and pat dry. Do not use any acids, retinol or exfoliants that day.
- Twist a fresh 42-pin cartridge onto the device until it locks.
- Set the needle depth. Start at 0.25mm. Beginners should stay at 0.25 to 0.5mm; go deeper only with experience and on areas that tolerate it.
- Apply your ampoule to the first section. ByTheQuality's recommended order is neck, then cheeks, then forehead.
- Glide the pen over the skin in horizontal, vertical and then circular passes. Let the device do the work; do not press hard. Follow the natural contours of the face.
- Reapply ampoule as you move to each new area so the skin stays wet.
- Finish with a calming layer, such as ByTheQuality Alo-Zulene Gel or KP Calming Booster. No makeup for the rest of the day; sunscreen the next morning.
- Discard the cartridge after one session. Never reuse.
Frequency: once a week at shallow depths. Give the skin a full week to recover between sessions.

Does the device come with needles?
No. Cartridges are sold separately in packs of 10. Add a pack to your order so you can start straight away.
How is this different from a derma roller?
A roller has fixed needles and relies on hand pressure, so depth is uneven and the needles enter at an angle. A pen stamps vertically at a set depth and speed, which is gentler on the skin and more consistent. The Crown head also keeps the ampoule on the skin instead of on the roller.
Does it hurt?
At 0.25 to 0.5mm, most people feel a light prickling or tingling, not pain. Deeper settings are more intense and are best left to experienced users or professionals.
Can I use it on sensitive or acne-prone skin?
Yes at shallow depths, with a calming ampoule afterwards. Do not roll over active, inflamed breakouts, open wounds, eczema or rosacea flare-ups.
How long does a session take?
About 10 to 15 minutes for the full face and neck.
